  • Rod for heavy ground (advice please)

Areet? Have just got back into fishing last year and am not the best caster so my preferred marks are generally rocks. Could do with some pointers on what to buy in a new rod though after popping 2 eyes and losing 11 leads/9 rigs at Howick today. Still had a mint morning though. Budget of about £200 (if I hide my credit card statement-ha.)

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Ron thompsons are 100 quid brand new, every one goes on about how good they are for the price

You could probably pick a kompressor up for arund 150 second hand like

If you're shopping for a new rod then the Ron Thompson, or if you can find one (as they've been discontinued recently but there are still some stockists who've got them) - a Leeda Icon Ultra Power. If you can get one second hand, a TTR.
