i fish with a century carbon metal, its a lovely rod bite detectoin is good, no problems with casting 6oz sinkers. i am not the best at casting great distances but i think in the right hands could chuck sinkers a fair distance. i am back fishing after a 10 year break so i dont know what it compares to to other rodsbut if i compare it to my ron thompson axellarator surf it is alot stiffer and does not bounce around as much in the wind
i use a carbon metal for all of my fishing other than rough ground they lack a little back bone on the rough stuff. I use a nemisis plus slr on the rough stuff
Cooky - I\'ve just got a Kompressor Sport but I was sent the Tip Tornado Sport by mistake. They are both stiff with firm tips ideal for rough seas and windy conditions. Difference is that the TT casts 8oz and the Kompressor 7oz - and they are both the same price.
I\'d try one first if you\'re not wanting something too stiff.
i have got the carbon metal express and i hate it its only good for the clean ground as the tip is to soft for the rocks. but it casts a 7oz lead with bait no bother.
Was\\talking rods in the tackle shop yesterday and I\'m told they are good rods for the beach. Don\'t think they will be good for rough stuff. Never used one personally.
