  • Kayak fishing advice

Is there anyone who could give me a bit advice on kayak fishing. I know this is dangerous at the best of times.

Things I would like to know is how much would I pay for a good kayak setup. With fish finder etc also what rod/ reel do i use on them would a uptider be ok along with a reel like a slosh 30

Where are the best places to launch your kayak. Here in the north east and in south west Scotland

Also if I'd do manage to get sorted out with a kayak is there anybody on here that would not mind showing me how to go on.

    Regards

    Gordon

    kayak

got my ocean kayak second hand for £300, then had to buy a dry suit and life jacket etc which set me back another £600 for decent equitment. still saving for a fish finder. have a look on anglers afloat, its a sea kayaking web site. i found it great. still learning myself. but the best advice i can give you is to get the best safety equipment you can afford and don,t go out without it. as for rods and reels i go for a cheap short outfit.

1 Have a look in boat section then search for kayak posts.

2 As Andrew says Anglersafloat has all the info on you need and full of friendly people more than willing to give advice.

3 A lad on there called dizzyfish has done a guide Free Guide to Kayak Fishing : Leave No Trace…

4 Come down to whitley bay boat station tomorrow morning at 9am and you ll see loads of different set ups.

Youve just missed a great set up for sale on anglersafloat and the lad was in south shields.

                  not dangerous at all
only if you havent got the right gear and are out in the wrong conditions
as mt says plenty people out there that will let you tag along ,as long as you have all the safety gear
just keep an eye out on anglers afloat for meets jeff
