anyone recommend a decent flattie/bass rod and reel to match,looking for something that the bairn can use and me(actually probably me a bit more lol)not too silly money.was thinking of salt flattie/bass but have'nt made mind up.thought i`d get a few views off yous chaps first,thanks lads.

iv got the salt bass and love it fancy the salt flattie go outdoors have them for forty quid in the sale online there nice slim would be great for the bairn

just getting a greys bZe spining rod off my uncle for nowt 2-3 ounce. as hes just bought a brand new one exactaly the same. he duznt buy ****e. and looking at it doze look like a good rod. im gona use it for a second rod to mess around with over the side. so carnt be bad rod if my uncles bought 2. been reading on line about them and they have a good review. hope this helps

Love the conoflex flattie fanatics got an 11ft version and 12ft version. The conoflex assassin also makes a great flattie rod although marketed as a spinning rod. All these three rods come in at just over £100 each. If you're working on a tight budget as stated in other posts the shakespear salts seem canny value.
