  • Hartlepool pilot pier

Hi everyone just joined yesterday im lad from harltepool looking forward to reading some good catches.

I Was on hartlepool's pilot pier a few days back i took some frozen Mackerel, out of the freezer from last season and gave it a wack at low tide. 10 lads on the pier, and no one was catching but me and my mate got 7 whiting all over 1pound but not 1 cod. guess they only wanted Mackerel that night

Bluey is the new maki from Jan to march the fish will be feeding on sprat and sandeel. Bluey gives plenty a fish oil get it on ya hook whip it on with cotton thread. Size 2/0 to 3/0 hook to stand a chance to get them mouth hooked. Anything smaller might be gut hooked so under size will dead kill. The bigger whiting might be cleaner and not full a worm.
