Its a lesser sand eel, but that pic looks like it was foul hooked just behind the head, sand eels don't bleed like that when they are lip hooked

            • The pic is a bad one, its not a sandeel and was silver, and the blood is off macky, it was lip hooked on the point of the daylite hook, I was getting them every cast for an hour lots of them foul hooked with the odd one lip hooked. Impossible to photo as it was so wriggly and slippery.

              • It looks like a small sand eel to me Pete. I will put it down as a lesser sandeel which is another point for you.

OK. If you really believe that's what it is then I will credit it. Previously you were unsure. I can't be bothered to argue about it.

No need for the snide comments... you previously didnt have a clue.

I wasnt shure but others were certain of what it was.

No arguing from me, i would just like it to be correct same as you would im shure?

                              • Pete, I caught a few of those tiny sandeels the other day mate, defo sandeel, just really really small. Had two balanced across my treble on a spinner hahaha, quite funny.

So far as people commenting on fish not lip hooked, there are a couple of photos on here where there is clear foul hooking damage on the body of peoples fish...there are some people who will try and submit these as legitimate fish but im also aware that even if a fish takes a hook in its lip then a flailing hook can still sometimes catch them in the side making it appear foul hooked even when not...

I think if Pete says its lip caught then its lip caught.... there has to be an element of trust here.... (even if its a fluke that it ended up in its mouth! )
