Both, but on a Poor Cod it is worse.

Only sure fire way to tell is by the position of the anal vent compared to the first dorsal fin, it is behind on the Poor Cod and towards the front on a Pout

                • Following a discussion in the Lure Fishing forum (Lure Fishing Challenge section) fish which have been caught by being foul hooked are no longer allowed in the Species Hunt. All fish must be caught by the fish biting the hook resulting in it becoming hooked in the mouth or "gut hooked" by swallowing it. I have added a rule to the first post to cover this. See here for more info http://www.nesa.co.uk/forums/lure-fi...2013-a-15.html

As a result of this I have removed my Launce from the table as that was caught by being foul hooked through the back on a spinner. This drops my score by one point but I am still in first place

                      • It looks like a Long Spined to me. The gills look seperate not joined like they are in a Short Spined. Or is it just the membrane lying flat against the body in your photo? What do you reckon?

                        Short Spined Sea Scorpion.....

                        • Thanks bassboyo. Yes the membrane was lying flat against the body in the other photo, the gills were joined. This was as close a photo I could take with the camera on my phone.
