I know it can be hard to tell coalfish and Pollack apart especially when juvenile but the protruding lower jaw and lateral lines are the signs, as well as the big eyes. Couple of pics I took last year with a coalfish amongst Pollack might make it easier to tell when they're side by side.

Yeah the weather was terrible most of last week - strong southerlies making Chesil unfishable at times but I managed a few off Weymouth Pier which was not as bad as Chesil. I am in Cornwall now and the weather is great for a spot of lure fishingOriginally posted by Stewart 1971 View Post
