but yea deffo agree that on the whole thats the case hence the names like you say.
Suppose cross breeding is inevitable aswell so that may cause common charachteristics.species 2013 - codling, whiting, dab, lesser spotted dogfish, spurdog, flounder, shore rockling, 5bd rockling, long spined sea scorpion, ballan wrasse, pollock, coalfish .......
species hunt to date......... Mackerel, Codling, Whiting, Pouting, LS Sea Scorpion, Shore Rockling, Sprat, Dab, Flounder, Bass, 5 bd Rockling, 3 bd Rockling, Turbot, Eelpout, Pollock, Lesser Weever, Plaice, Lesser Spotted Dogfish, Spurdog, Ballan Wrasse, Coalfish.......TBC!!

Can I just remind everyone that when submitting your pictures could you please take a photograph of the whole fish not just part of it which will help confirm it's identity. Also where appropriate can you please also take a close up photo of identifying features e.g. barbels on rockling, undersides on sea scorpions etc. Thanks lads.
