  • A mackerel and a sandeel for me, no idea what kind of sandeel greater I think, its in deep freeze in case I need to identify properly ha.

    • Aye Pete, it looks like a greater sand eel, but best way is to hold the mouth open, if it opens up in an alien like gape, then its a greater, if it opens into a tube, then its a lesser.

      • If it's not frozen solid yet Pete maybe you could check the mouth? If not I will put it down as Greater.

                      • Table updated. Well done Aqua-Holic you are now in second place.

Geordie UK - What species of Gurnard is that? Grey Gurnard?

The rockling vote is 6-4 in favour of multiple species so we can continue to argue /debate over them

Fair enough Mike but I still think debating bi catch is pointless.

If you want to claim a species you need to provide solid photographic evidence that it is indeed that species; if it is not clear from the photograph then either no fish can be claimed or it goes down as the most commonly caught example (at risk of starting a new discussion )
This is a very sensible idea by Stewart.

I tryd to put info in myself but that's as much as I know tbh. Maybe even best angles to get pics etc to help distinguish the sub species would b good info also to add
