  • Dalbeattie

Hi lads, new to the forum and I'm going to Dalbeattie on the 27th,28th coming home on the 29th and was hoping to get a bit fishing in on the 28th and was wondering if anyone could help me out with a few marks round the area. We're staying somewhere just off the A710 this side of Dalbeattie and it's pretty much on the coast, but can't seem to find any info really, and won't have the time to find out when I get there between mountain biking and drinking!

Many thanks in advance, tight lines and merry xmas!

If there's a big sea running, making it difficult and possibly dangerous
trying to fish the marks mentioned, balcary bay is easy to fish, and chucks
the occasional cod out.Almorness point, which is set further back, and in
            between balcary and rockliffe,is a fair old shank,but a good mark,approached
from the palnackie area. The best mark i've fished, when the sea is that big,
the seaward marks are impossible to fish,is Senwick church,on the western
side of Kirkudbright bay, directly behind the old graveyard. You have to park
at the roadside, just before you get to Ross bay, then cross the field to the
graveyard, down the bank at the back to a small grassy opening, then across
a small rock gulley onto the fishing mark.Does'nt matter how big the sea is,
you are safe here....well unless it's at night, when the sasquatch is on the
prowl, but you'll have to ask the Plum about that story.
