  • Blyth pier?

Is Blyth pier fishable to night? Cheers

  • #2
    Hi Chris,
Just had a look at the pier about an hour ago. Still a lot of white water and spray hitting rail height. I would imagine at the moment there will be a fierce undertow, and perhaps loose weed. However, the swell is forecast to drop away slightly later on, so it might be OK this evening. Would imagine there being a crowd of anglers on the pier mind.

I was thinking of having a few chucks there this afternoon - I always prefer it over low & in daylight - but got held up in loads of traffic this morning! Downside to the place at the moment is it's a real small tide and there's an awful lot of fresh water coming down the river, but if I was on today I'd probably fish short of the bend chucking across towards the beach. It should be fishable tonight, but watch for holes in the decking where a few boards have gone & others have lifted & may be loose.

its rough as a badgers arse at the minute around the piers!!
even the pilot boat turned back after getting out as far as 20 yards from the piers!!
The only fish i want this year is a double figured cod!!!
