alnmouth bridge

    i am gonna have a shot up alnmouth( not warkworth as i posted before) river tommorow evening, just down from the bridge. does anyone know any good spots on the river?, iv\'e heard its a good plaice lol for flounder
    also i am fishing light gear, river rod and 6lb line with plaice rigs and 1-2oz sinkers as i fancy a bit of fun. do ya think this is to light?

    Not disagreeing with Tonys advice but just adding a little extra.
    2oz is fine on the flood but no use on the ebb, 4oz grip or watch lead will be needed if you dont want snagged.
    You need to look at this mark at low water to see the snaggy areaes and pools.
    About 40 yards from the gate is nice spot. You will see a coping on the wall which is indented, this is a snag free pool which produces good catches of flounders.Although casting from here can be difficult due to the thornbush hedge.
    Further round to where Tony has suggested but not as far as the point can be good for flounder.
    Don\'t forget to take some spinners as the point area throws up some canny bass and sea trout at this time of year, infact fly fishing at the point can be great at dusk, at least it was last year.

        warning if you are spinning up there,watch you dont get caught up in the Gill nets thats probably just been layed out
