Ive been reading this post with Interest as I'm one of a group fighting for access to certain area's,the place is unsafe that's a fact, the council have no spare cash thanks to government spending cuts another fact,Sunderland council are struggling to repair roads etc and a crumbling pier is not a high priority unfortunately, there is no magic wand or pot of money to dip in to,its simply a case of priority, there are EEC funding grants for coastal regeneration etc that have been looked in to but these things take time, should someone get hurt on there at present there's no one to blame but themselves ..Angling Trust/UKCC Level 2 Sea Angling and Coarse Fishing Coach at www.fishingnortheast.co.uk or follow us on Facebook fishingnortheast.co.uk
