  • Greys orion

I have a greys orion m2 14ft, the eyes are ok, but it needs a canny
bit work to get it back to its former glory, does anyone know roughly
how much this will entail, or is it even worth it, the rod still great.

For a rebuild with a set of minimas your looking at around £55 new realseat £7? New shrink £10

Quite expensive but depends how much you like the rod..

Cheers mate, its got a new reel seat, and its lovely to fish with, but at them
prices i could flog it and put the money towards another rod.

If it's still in useable condition then just use it!
Rebuilds on perfectly useable rods are only for tackle tarts

Mine blew over on South Shields pier and smashed two rings. Had mine rebuilt and it looks like new, worth it as it's a great rod for clean to mixed ground. Still cheaper than buying a new one. As was said earlier as long as rings aren't damaged and slicing line etc why bother. Bit of clean up, touch of t-cut and a polish over and a couple of quid for some new shrink wrap or grip tape and it's working fine.

Couldn't agree more spend more time fishing not worrying how fancy your gear looks at the end of the day bait, knowing where and when to fish are more important, at the end of the day the fish don't know the difference
