I'm in complete agreement with Paul there is a forecast for 66 knot (75mph)easterly winds tomorrow and none of the marks, including the pier, ballys etc will be fishable never mind safe to fish. Every year anglers are lost along that coast.
Saturday pm the winds are 'forecast' to back souwesterly and if the swell is not to big and there being a decent tide Easthaven (south of Arbroath) from the beach or skeers could fish. Make sure you don't get cut off if fishing the skeers the tide comes in very quickly behind you. Ballys is south of the pier roughly behind the big buildings you can see as you drive into Arbroath and fishes best 2hrs each side of high water on big tides following an onshore blow.
Vicky park fishes at the same times and same conditions and is north of the pier;follow the signs for the cliffs and fish at the playing fields, the shelter seems to be a popular mark. Further north there are numerous marks up all the way to Montrose but they need to fished when the sea is dying and conditions are safe. Have a look at google earth and you will easily find lots of marks up that way particularly Auchmithie and Usan. Before you leave check the forecast and have a look at the Arbroath webcam as its a long trip to find out you cannot fish.Last edited by mac48; 13-12-2012, 07:58 PM.
