      Frightening your statistic about the number of velvets in the pots Doc. If the eaters and lobsters have lengthened their peeling period is that restricted to deeper water? No one has ever mentioned picking a few up in their tyres or sets, or is it that no one is looking?

        The last big spring tide I got a bucket load of velvets,its the most I\'ve ever seen

          I was crabbing at cambois last week and the velvets are everywhere,also know a lad with pots around the back of tynemouth pier and he is getting 2-3 boxes of them a day!

            Doc you wouldnt happen to know if one of these proposed wind farms is planned for Dunbar? there was a survey ship going up and down that area for a couple of months last year.
            loads of velvets up here as well,hardly found any edibles last year.
            never bothered looking for any this year.
