Could anyone give me some info on fishing this mark. I\'ll be coming from Monkseaton, but I\'m not sure on the best way to get there, or indeed where to park.
I just fancy trying for a few mackerel so any pointers would be much appreciated.
I cant direct you from your location because i dont know where that is but as for the ark and parking well if you want to park free of charge park up the road next to the big park thats there, you cant miss it, failing that its £4 all day int he car park right at the end of the pier on the waters front.
Not sure when your coming up but if your fishing small tides or if teh water isa dirty try off the back wall, thats south facing or south east facing, casting towards sunderland, the ground is clean once you clear 40 yrads out and this fishes well with daylights and spinners.
When on high tide/big tides, in between the pier is a good shot with spinners and daylights casting towards the other pier or into the tide rip.
If you wish a change from spinning there are alot of snadeel and small colie down the side of the small white wall right on the end( its where the rail meets the wall on facing the other pier)
biat fishing i think is best over low tide and small tides but can be abit of a tackle killer, if i have missed anything just say.
No its not Jonny, best not to advertise that as they will get it spopped. Its for workers of shields weather station and the fair ground workers...i never park there
near whitley bay (unless they moved it lol ) depends which way you go over /under the tyne Stuey ,tyne tunnel etc we normaly go over the tyne bridge then turn left (not a lot of help) parking ,we parked in the carpark right next to the pier as like yourself we dont know the area,(we fished the beach before anyone asks)
If you\'re coming via the tunnel, Stuey -
As you come out of the tunnel you\'ll come to a set of traffic lights at a roundabout.
You need to take the 2nd exit on the roundabout - A185
This starts off as a dual carriageway but merges to single lane.
Continue along the A185 until you come to a roundabout.
Turn L at the r/bout this is now the A194.
Stay on the A194 all the way into Shields.
After a succession of roundabouts the A194 will bring you directly in front of Shields Town Hall.
As you approach the junction with the town hall facing you, get into the L hand lane for turning L at the lights.
As soon as you have turned L after the lights, get into the R hand lane for the next lights.Turn R at these lights and you\'re on Beach Road - the town hall will now be on your R.
When you come to the mini r/bout, carry straight on and up the bank.
When you get to the top of the bank, you\'ll see the park (which Richy mentioned) on your left.
Continue down the bank until you come to the junction at the bottom.
Turn L - you\'ll have the park lake on your L and the fairground on your R.
After a very short distance, you\'ll come to a mini r/bout with the \"Sea Hotel\" directly in front of you. Take the road to the R of the hotel.
The entrance to the car park indicated in the aeriel photo is now directly on your R.
