I\'ve got a G5 but don\'t use it all that much, as I prefer the CM. It\'s not a bad rod by any means though.
It\'s 13ft (6ft butt and 7ft tip) and a fairly beefy rod -not as slim as the CM, but weighs a couple of ounces less. Admittedly it\'s 6in shorter than the CM, but I don\'t think the weight difference is completely down to that.
It\'s rated at \'upwards of 150 gram\' or \'6 to 8 oz\' depending which ad you read, and I\'ve seen it advised as as a rod for rough ground fishing. Although I\'ve only used it for clean beaches and a bit of mixed ground I think it would stand up to it OK.
Personally I\'d be inclined to shop around and see if I could pick up the CM, I don\'t think there\'s all that much in the prices now, but if you\'ve been offered a good deal on a G5 it could be worth considering.
        Cheers
