  • Veals

Forgot to post this a few weeks ago.

I wrote to Veals regarding the rotor arm on my Okuma Amazonium FS reel, which I\'d bought from them 10 months ago, cracking while I was fishing. They sent a brand new reel to me, only asking for mine in return (freepost).

    Brilliant service

    Cracking service (no pun intended)!
I use veals a lot and while i find the\'re not that cheap (nor expensive though), you are definately paying for the service, which even without any mishaps is very good.
They always put every last thing you ordered in aswell, and always know what you are talking about when you describe something.

Can\'t praise them highly enough. My first multiplier was a 525gs (about 5 years ago) - the drag kept slipping no matter how hard I tightened it. I told them straight away and they had one in the post to me before I\'d even returned the original!

Like Geoff says, you\'re paying for service, and I don\'t mind paying for service like that!

Guess who\'s printing the book... the company who prints Veals\' catalogues and promotional stuff. Can\'t praise them too highly either. Seems Veals are getting it right all down the line.

Nice to hear about good firms like this it gives you hope for some of the others. I think this is one of the reasons that more people are using online dealers.

Another one to agree, however I try not to get in to using them too much and stick to the local shops. You need them more for bait in the winter! I have to say though that there are one or two items I prefer and always there more or less next day.

I must agree that Veals are brilliant ,however let\'s not forget our local shops ,after all you can\'t order your worms from Veals and if the local shops go under ( Temples ) ,things will get a lot more difficult for us lot .
You can take the lad out of Walker but .......

                        hi
i can only speak for me in the wonderful world of fishing at cramlington but as i see it the fishermen want the convenience of buying there bait at the local shops, but sometimes seek bargains at other online stores. i am sure that all the other tackle store owners could match the online prices, whether they will or not is up to them, I will if i can, but there is a huge amount of revenue leaving the north east that if spent at the local dealers would enable them to provide better bait etc, if they are willing? i know that for me who is the new kid on the block i am seeking many avenues to give the fishermen what they want...... good bait at the right price.... I totally agree mate well said. I am sure you look after your customers but a lot of tackle shops do not. I live in Consett and am sick of ordering live bait for comps and matches only to be told when I get there that there is none.
How would you feel traveling 30 miles for nothing then 30 miles back home. A lot of tackle shops need to get there house in order or a lot more will be closing. As I will not be traveling much further I will pop in to see you probably tomorrow mate.
