  • "Thank You"

As this week is the last of the Sea Angling Chronicle reports, it is almost the end of an era for me, after writing this column for over forty years. I would like to say a great big "thank you" to all of the tackle shops in the area, charter boats, club secretaries and individual anglers who have kept me supplied with information to enable me to write this column.

Clubs, tackle shops and charter boats are offered the opportunity to have any of their events, i.e Opens, AGM's, good catches etc. mentioned on the radio show. These will be reported by Andy Rutherford Sunderland tackle dealer for anything south of the Tyne and for the north Rob Thirlwell each week. Please get in touch with me with all of your details on 0191-5184561 or email samharris01@aol.com

Yep, sadly the end of an era Sam - thanks to yourself and Alan Charlton for keeping us all informed over the years...I think this means there'll now only be the Sunday Sun still running a column. Good luck with the continuing radio show, hopefully a few more will start tuning in with the demise of the local papers' coverage - keep up the good work Sam!

I would just like to reiterate Sam's comments the loss of two angling columns is a great loss to our sport thanks everyone and I hope you keep up with all the angling news in the Sunday Sun although the writing could be on the wall for that too, we shall see
          Alan
