Without asking for members personal details that I can pass on to the tackle dealers - it can only work on trust, Alan.

    AND I CERTAINLY DON\'T WANT ANYBODYS\' PERSONAL DETAILS !

its down to trust in the end,it would\'nt be fair on Tony or Elton to issue Membership cards, alot of people register but dont post or post rarely, the only fair way if you/we wanted to use an id card system would be for us to pay the cost of it and ONLY if the member requested one,the site is North East based but alot of members live outside of the area so it would be a waste of time and money for some people.Another way is for the member to PM the relevent shop and tell them you are coming down and might want to buy x y and z,then introduce yourself when you get there.
      Cheers Alan...

Think you might\'ve cracked it there, Alan.

Only registered members have the PM facility

Is it not a case of getting to know the shop owner before expecting any discount?
          Cheers, Keith.

Personally, I never expect any discount, no matter how long I\'ve been a customer.
But when a shop is OFFERING discount to NESA members, then that\'s a different matter, I think, Keith.

easy solution is to just get a nesa badge from billys lol ,he always asks \"who are you like \"

i like the idea of a nesa id card ,why not just send blanks out by e-mail tony to those who want one and they can add there own details/photo

              cheers Bri

I probably didn\'t word that very well Tony, I just had a vision of someone entering a tackle shop for the first time and demanding discount just beacuse they have a NESA ID card in their possession.
                Cheers, Keith.

Aye, I know what you mean, Keith but I don\'t think they\'d DEMAND it (or am I being a bit naive).
If the shop has said that they\'ll give the discount to NESA members, then I don\'t really see the problem.

I don\'t know if it srill applies, but I remember when there were certain high street stores offering discounts to members of various Trades Unions........doesn\'t matter if you\'d ever shopped there before, but if you had your union card with you, you\'d get the discount.

Just to keep yous in the picture.......
I\'m busy looking into the possibility of restricting access to the \"member list\" to registered members only.
At the moment, it\'s viewable to non-members.

If it can be made viewable only after log-in then it would serve the purpose of tackle dealers (well....those who are NESA members), being able to check any given username against the list.

Personally....I still think that Alans\' suggestion of sending the dealer a PM 1st is the simplest and most effective way.

to be honest I dont think guests should be allowed to see your email,profile,www.,etc at the bottom of each post !

What you have as your signature at the bottom of each post is entirely up to you, Alan.......but bear in mind that it IS visible on the Board to EVERYONE who looks in.

If you don\'t want to have your e-mail address viewable in your profile, then you have the option to have it hidden.

The only person who has access to EVERYBODYS\' e-mail address is me as an e-mail address has to be submitted when registering.

Details entered into your profile again are up to you......if you don\'t want to put in your \"location\" for example....you don\'t have to.

                          Cheers Alan...

                            I run a few, Alan.
There\'s not many who have any of the others, but I\'m not bothered who send stuff to the nesasite@hotmail address - that\'s the only one I make public.

Sounds like a plan ,although for Frasers you just need to mention the site or my nickname and you\'ll be OK for discount ,Brian\'s a canny lad and always gives a prize for comps when asked .
You can take the lad out of Walker but .......
