Aye you\'ve gotta watch your back at this shot as the tide does tend to come in behind you. I\'ve fished it a couple of times in the past at very L/W and always err on the safe side regrding when to move off the mark.
Got a little job to sort out with the car (fingers crossed it doesn\'t turn into a big job) then I\'m off for some bait and out for a shot over low water.
Sorry Mick.......just back in about half an hour ago......didn\'t see this before I left thismorning
Got there about 10:45 to be greeted by a howling wind and then it started raining..........hmmmm......the omens weren\'t looking good.
Varied the styles.....casting right INTO the kelp / casting into the clearer bits - using plain sinkers / using grippers........By the way, Paul - those \"cannylinks\" are just that, m8 :P)
I had a couple of canny knocks but nothing came of them.
Ian had a nice 2 to 2 and a half pound redcod on but lost it close in in the kelp......annoying really - it was only a cople of yards off being landed. Moved to the next gulley........out on the end.....only had time for 2 casts as the tide was ripping back in by now. As it turned out - we still had to wade chest deep at one point on the way back to safer ground.
Met Kenny and Kyle Gray when we were there......they were out looking for peeler.......don\'t think they were having much luck.
Spent the rest of the afternoon at mark 44 on Shields Pier......nothing much doing there, either.......lol......although Ian did get a couple of decent sized coalies - both returned.
Met Richy and his mam down there again.....becoming a bit of a habbit, that.......also had a bit of a chat with young Stephen as we were leaving..........CRIKEY.....it sounds like a NESA outing.
Forgot to say.........
I did mean to take the little digital camera with me......but forgot it.
However, if anybody would like a HIGHLY detailed aeriel photo of the area we were fishing (taken during a VERY big L/W), PM me and I\'ll e-mail you.
Believe me - you\'ll not find any aeriel photos as detailed as these on the \'net !!
