  • TC - Suggestion for new section

I\'ve recently had a problem in finding a schematic for my SLOSH 30 (which Bri kindly sorted me out on) and I know people in the past have struggled with schematics for ABU reels. Between all of us we must have just about every reel going, so what about building a schematic library? We scan them in and send them in.

    Just a thought

        Cheers Mike......VERY good idea

There was a very limited \"reel shematics\" bit on previous incarnations of NESA, but I think it only had diagrams for a couple of reels.

        I\'ve created a new \"Reel Schematics\" section and split it into 3 sub-categories:
        Multiplier
        Fixed Spool
        Boat Reels

I\'ve put a couple of my boat reel diagrams in there to get things started.

If anybody wants to scan the schematics they got with their reel and post them in there, please do so.

        NOTE:
Only need ONE diagram per reel model though

        Great links there, MickA :P

Bit disappointed in not being included in one of the sub-sections Tony so I\'ll add mine here

            SCARBOROUGH REEL

1 Put index finger on side of reel
2 Whizz it out as hard as you can
3 Count fingers...... just in case.

That\'s about as technical as it gets lol

              Lol David.........I didn\'t miss you out, m8.......as I said.....\"I\'ve initially split the section into 3 areas\".

Always leave room for future expansion - that\'s what I say.........
unfortunately, I now need to apply that maxim when buying clothes.....lol

Impressed with the way you got out of that Tony. Have just looked at the schematic diagrams for the reel but I\'ve dropped the bl**dy slate board on the floor and the chalk has smudged. Will have to seek out the papyrus version.

                  Lol David,
Scarboro\'s must be older than I thought.....

I was certain that I\'d seen a sketched plan of a \"fishing winch device\" drawn by Leonardo da Vinci..........hahahaha

You could often catch the old man and Leonardo in the Turks Head and on the Bathing Pool skeers arguing where to put your ring finger (steady!!) and how much chain link backing to put on. Trouble was De Vinci always had the readies for the patents and when he moved to Scarborough.... well. In a different world I could be fishing with the Cullercoats

                      Hahahaha......
.....or, indeed, the \"Whitley Winch\" ...........not to be confused with the \"Whitley Wench\" - Where the expression \"securing a Whitley Wench to your rod\", could lead the rest of the Storey family wondering just what you and your brother get up to when you say you\'re going fishing

Tony I\'ve seen a few of those Whitley Wenches on Whitley beach and they\'ve got some mighty fine Whitley winches attached to them. Reckon they could rip a rock angler in his chesties and flotation suit to bits in 5 minutes. Best to stick to fishing with the big rod and the King Eddies
