CVFM "Gone Fishing" Radio Programme broadcasts each Saturday from 8 am to 10 am. with live reports from England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales on all angling disciplines. You can tune in live on CVFM Radio 104.5fm "Listen Live". The programme is also put onto Mix Cloud from the following Monday, where it can be heard at any time. This week's special guest is Nick Marlow who is Editor and owner of Tackle & Guns Magazine. This is a publication for the fishing and shooting trade and, talking to Nick, there is a lot of concern among tackle shop owners in particular of the amount of fishing tackle that can be bought on eBay, etc as apparently this is doing a lot of damage to local fishing shops.
Other guests for the month of September are an owner of the Angling Heritage Museum, Sven Hille from Germany who will be talking about fishing in the Baltic Sea where salinity in the water is so low that it is possible to catch freshwater and sea fish in the same place. When I fished there, I had Pike, Herring, Salmon, Coalfish, Cod, Garfish all on the same day and in the same places. Also in September will be Magnis Blistein who is a charter boat skipper from the Faroe Islands. One of the Gone Fishing Team, Phil Williams, was up in the Faroes recently with Magnis and Phil told me about the fantastic Plaice fishing, They had two of this species in one day and the combined weight of the two was 17 1/2 lb. On the last Saturday of the month the guest is Andy Beadsley who is Director of the Wheely Boat Trust. This company build boats enabling disabled anglers, including those in wheel chairs, to be able to fish lakes and rivers.
