It's in the Express. They print the same $h1te every year. I'd trust my gammy knee and Mrs Miggins reading of the tea leaves before I'd believe anything they print lol

We always have a fire when fishing Marsden beach, keeps you warm and gets rid of the driftwood.

ExcellentI'll do that in future then.Just interested if people objected to fires coz of the smell and that, though cant think why anyone would

Just show a little thought for the lads upwind of you.

I fished Lynemouth a few weeks ago, lads next to me built a fire. Only problem was the wind was blowing straight along the beach so for the next hour I was shrouded in wood smoke, my eyes were streaming and my clothes stank (though I suppose smoke is no worse than fish and worm stench). On the positive side at least they didn't start burning plastic like some people do.

And to finish with a tale - when I was down south in the summer visiting friends I fished the shingle beach at Lee On Solent. Most entertaining bit of the night was the group of lads who brought a sofa onto the beach with them and had a few beers while fishing. I'm guessing they must have got a bit cold as at about 11pm the gave up[ sitting on the sofa and set fire to it instead

Always remember when i was a young lad fishing under the town bridge in sunderland about 14yrs old and there was always a fire in the arches off the older fellas No floatation suits just jeans and denim jackets the fires were a god send and giant coalies caught using muscle on rusty hooks litterally over the side millions of them .... Happy memories
