Hi Peter I've got the Power Pro 66lb (.36mm) on my Saltist 20 and it is spot on. Get it from this place POWERPRO fishing braid - 300yd 66lb YELLOW POWER PRO | eBay if you don't want to go through fleabay you can contact them direct and if you order at lunchtime they will put it in the post so you get it the next day (top lads to deal with). Bleak Hall Sports Fishing Tackle and Gun shop in Kempston, Bedford

The power pro is lovely to cast and knots well. I am though going to look at some of the Chinese knock-off power pro http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-DYNEEM...item3f0ea758b7 as at that price you can't really go wrong.

I have the same line on my 7500 ct. Spot on, casts well and really tough. Had no problems with it.

            braid

have you tried the teklon gold mono from gerrys, the 60lb is as thin as 30lb in other makes. casts great, knot strenth high, no need for shock leaders and 300mtr spools. great in the heavy kelp and been so thin you can get loads on a reel.my slosh 20s got two fills of one spool. £14-99.

Use braid on all the reels on the boat, always downtiding/uptiding and never had a problem.
Only ever use Power Pro as its the best on the market bar none !!!!!!!!!!!!

Thing is with Teklon Gold is abrasion is ****e. Buy line in diameter rather than pounds. The lower diameter stuff is just pre-streched.

30lb sensor casts great as well and alot cheaper.

It's good to pull out if snags cos you only have to pull it back a yard esp if theres no room where your fishing.

Its good bite detection BUT exagerates bites esp when you have your rod in your hand. However, I found on a multi and my rods I pulled fish off cos of no stretch in the line.

Casting wasn't an issue with it. However, I didnt really see the benifits of using 70lb braid on my 525 and 30lb line on my saltist 30.

If you want to chuk further ask for lessons etc.. Dont compromise in diameters of line on heavier ground when you could lose fish.

good on the rocks because it cuts through thick kelp like cheesewire so if u have a good fish that will wrap u up around thick kelp stalks u stand a good chance of getting it back, but just use steady presure because as has been said no stretch so if u rive on chances r u will pull the hook or rip the fish's insides out. no need 2 strike at a fish just lift & wined in2 it & wined like the clappers, as cod says great bite detection with no stretch only dont leave rod in rest & go walk about or u might just come back 2 no rod or rest if a good fish hits ya, i had 5 flatties over the lb mark on the beach the other day with 20lb braid & they all lifted the rod parallel 2 the rod rest.
                      bill.

The other advantage to braid is that it floats, unlike mono which sinks. As long as you don't tighten right up to the lead (which you don't want to be doing rock fishing anyway) you have more chance of avoiding snags as the line isn't sunk to the bottom.

And I don't see what you mean about snapping? I use 65lb braid and a 80lb leader (or 100lb braid straight through for short casts into very rough ground). The 65lb braid lets me use a 50lb rotton bottom on my rig body for casting and a 40lb hook length. Eith the 50lb link snaps or the hook bends out and as cod cod cod says with braid not stretching it only takes a pull of a foot or two to pull out of the snag.

well braid does not give so if your pulling against rock the braid will snap and if your using a 80lb shocker with your braid its acting the same as mono as you have a weak link i.e the knot and rock fishing i always tighten my line when using rottom bottoms i am not arguing just from what i have experienced with braid i have only used it on a boat. another thing if your using braid in kelp looking for big fish with 60lb line why do you need the extra feel?

I use heavy braid off the boat and light braid for spinning with a fixed spool reel. When I’ve used the light 30lb braid on a 6500c for spinning it was a nightmare. The stuff digs in to the spool stopping half way through a cast or fluffing up ready to form a bird’s nest at the slightest chance.
What line are you all using and how well does it cast on multi’s with a heavier weight?
