  • NEW BAIT SHOP OPEN IN SOUTH SHIELDS

Remember the \"VASEYS IS DEAD - LONG LIVE VASEYS\" topic a wee while ago?......the new owner told me that he was going to start selling rag & lug?????.........well........Looks like he\'s started........I think.
There\'s a new bait shop opened up, directly opposite Vaseys in Frederick Street.
It\'s called \"SEABAIT SUPPLIES\"........Doesn\'t sell tackle, rods, reels, etc......just bait.
Ian was in there thismorning and they stock a wide variety of baits:
Rag, Blow Lug (\"big and small\"), Black Lug, peeler (fresh and frozen), WhiteWorm, squid, mussel, razor, etc. One thing he is DESPARATELY short of (hasn\'t got any at all) - is mackeral. He said to Ian that if he (Ian) caught any, he\'d gladly buy them from him.

    Opening times are 8:00am - 5:30pm weekdays and 8:00am - 12:00 Sundays.
    Prices are very reasonable, too.

Ian got some rag - quality is VERY good and some fresh peeler.

Jonny, there\'s already an \"on-line tackle dealer\" section in the weblinks.........however......I think you\'re right, m8:

There are a number of local N.E. dealers who don\'t trade on the \'net (Temples is a good case in point - look what\'s just happened to them) and I think it would be a good idea to have a \"directory\" of local tackle shops.

I know most of the names, but not their addresses / phone numbers / opening times, etc. If anybody wants to send me details of THEIR local dealers, please do so and I\'ll set up a dealer directory.

I know some may see it as free advertising......but if it\'s helping to keep a local firm in business, then I\'ve got no problems with that.
Also, it would serve as a list of possible alternaives if your usual shop hasn\'t got what you\'re after.

Lol Sless........I should\'ve known better.......how likely is it that a new fishing shop opens in Shields and you DON\'T know more about it......lol.
I recognise that name from the Cleadon Club matches, Sless. Let Stevie know that he\'s got my business (bait-wise) from now on, m8.
