why do older anglers never give kids a chance to learn, untill they see that they dads are there, then its all come here and i\'l show u how to do that,if am fishing and kids are there i\'d always help them cos next time they dont get in the the road cos they have an idea of how to go on, and learn respect for what goes on around them

Welcome to NESA MANOFALLFISH hope you enjoy.
I think you will find that there are quite a few people on here that DO help the younger anglers mate. I have helped quite a few in the past and chased a few others also. Some times it can be a bit difficult to help a youngun on Blyth pier when they are lighting a fire and when you enquire why they tell you to f*** off. Or throwing litter all over the place like many of their fathers do.
Just going to move this to Shore fishing as catch reports is not really the place for it lol.
Jim.Remember, some people are alive simply because it is illegal to shoot them.

I have tried and helpped kids out for years but 90% of the time it comes back and kicks me...etc they kill small fish, jump in your spot and cast over your line, cut your daylight soff when your not looking and say \"never seen them mista\"
I still try and help them if they ask and seem \"the right type\" aka not a charv and only there for a drink or something to do.
I hope if i ever have kids, thats if the goverment let me that someone would help them (if our sport is still going then\" out.

Welcome to NESA M8. I even helped some chava,s on sunday morning on roker pier. They were trying to catch some mackrel and making a right pigs ear of it. I,ve never laughed so much for a long time. In the end I went over and showed them how to go about it and even gave them a few traces of daylights and feathers and a few 4oz sinkers. ( I must have been out in the sun to long ).As I have grown older, I've learned that pleasing everyone is impossible,
but P*****g everyone off is a piece of cake.

i\'ve found some you simply can\'t help but they are in the minority. 90% of kids you help out really apreciate what you\'re doing for them, i usually save my old hooks up and tie some sets of feathers up with them. then give them away to kids who obviously are struggling on the pier. often carry a cheap spool of line with me and let a kid whos lost his line spool up.
a lot of kids just need a little help and attention which is often lacking in their home life (would you let your 5 or 6 year old son go fishing on the pier on his own, i certainly wouldn\'t) sorry if i sound like a social worker but theres no denying its fact.
just a little bit time invested helping kids can start a hobby that will last a lifetime, i was lucky i\'ve got good parents a lot of these kids have not.
