USE OF LUMINOUS LURES AT NIGHT
Collapse

-
araldite a plastic sleeve to one side of a spinner and stick a small snap light in, works well on dexters, sometimes add a hokkai or 2 above the spinner as well.
flashgun is the biz for \'charging\' hokkais up, get a brighter luminesence with a quick flash than 5minutes with a head light
if there\'s sea trout about, you\'ll stand a good chance of taking them at night. I\'ve had em in scotland with shiny things in the dark - just put em in yer bag quickly and say nowt!, any that are caught in the tyne upto a mile off shore are technically belonging to the Bywell syndicate!

Thought for the day:
Some people are like slinkies - not really good for anything but bring a smile to your face when thrown down the stairs
Converting an MFV Fifie trawler type thing.

Marks idea with the snap light works ok. I use a flowing trace ( a bit like a flying collar rig ) and fasten a glow stick above the hook. Fastened on with float rubbers. I get the sticks from the local pound shop ( £1 for a box of 16 different colours ) there cheap and they work pretty good.As I have grown older, I've learned that pleasing everyone is impossible,
but P*****g everyone off is a piece of cake.

Cheers for the kind words lads!
Still fishing, just not much lately. Possibly going upto to Drummore next Friday for a few days, hopefully getting towards Tandoo Point south of Dunskey Castle (Port Patrick).
Gordon and Bert, had it pretty much right. Combination of a woman and having a geeky 3-D solid modelling job doesn\'t give me much spare time and you don\'t feel much like switching the PC on when you been staring at one for the last 9hrs.
Hope everyones well!
Hello Norman! I\'m sure Slinky Kate was behind Ellen MacAuthur in the Chronicle a few days back? Hope you, Dave M, Bob, Ian S and the rest of the boat lads (including Rich the ever obliging crewman ) are still pulling the monsters out! No need to mention the lads from the Cleadon Club. They seem to get into the fish all the time. Even Sless was in the paper! I was just suprised he managed to get a fish up without getting snagged!
Glad the rods still going well Tony. Had a good few enjoyable sessions out with it and I\'m sure you\'ve been doing the same.
Gordon, sorry bout that line, if it\'s still about I owe you cash, if not I owe you beer!
Ray, still got plenty of weights, but i\'ll be sure to give you a ring when I\'m running low. (Could always lend Scott a few!!) :P
Peter! New Harltey Open, Caught bot all, came back had chicken curry n chips (cracking!!!) and got a waterproof disposable camera in the salvage draw Best thing was, Rob got a flipper n snorkel set. Laughed pretty much all the way home because he said he wasn\'t bothered what prize he got, as long as it wasn\'t a 55lb bag of spuds
Anyway, I\'ll try and post some pics of next weekends trip when I return. Hopefully get some nice pollack and blow the dust off my gear.
Cheers!
