  • UK to "Take Back Control" of Fishing Waters

UK to withdraw from international fishing arrangement - BBC News
The government is to end an arrangement that allows other countries to fish in UK waters, it has been announced.
The convention allows Irish, Dutch, French, German and Belgian vessels to fish within six and 12 nautical miles of UK coastline.

It's a small step in the right direction.

I believe our announcement is by way of a two year notice of intention. It's unsure if we will be able to enforce it because the EU have already stated the 1964 London Fisheries Convention has been superseded by the EU fisheries policy laws. I hope we will argue that leaving the EU removes our obligation to their laws and gives us the right to take back our waters
