  • Lobster sizes

Any one know what the legal size limit for lobsters is on the North East coast.

If i remember rightly ones carrying eggs can\'t be collected, is this correct.

One more thing, Is there a limit as to how many can be collected. It was mentioned that it\'s one per person but I\'m not sure if this is a conservation/voluntary thing,

    Any Ideas

What? You mean the \'peeler lobster\' baits I regularly use on 8/0 hooks are illegal!

It is to stop lobster fisermen using them as pot bait, i used to use huge soft backed eaters on the west coast for conger, they found them irresistable.

and as well as the size limit, any with a vee notch cut in the tail must be returned regardless of size

not sure of the limit on take, but you are allowed 3 pots without licence, with and eye of around 120mm, but you are alos allowed 3 crab pots with open eyes at the same time and 3 prawn pots which I think are 80mm eyes which is big enough for in size lobsters as well

            you gannin pottin\' marc??
