  • Crabs in tanks?

Before anyone says it I\'m not talking about a crab panzer division.

    I want to keep common shore crabs (not peelers) by themselves in a large tank i have (4ft x 1 1/2ft x 1 1/2ft).

I have an under gravel filter system set up but was wondering if two small plug in air pumps at either end would be strong enough to filter the tank?

And what could i feed them?

    Cheers in advance!

your set up sounds fine geoff, how many crab are you thinking of putting in the tank? bearing in mind the little critters **** for fun,
feed them on small bits of mackeral etc.
i have to ask why do you want to keep crabs as pets ? they are best shelled and stuck on the hook
