  • VASEYS IS DEAD - LONG LIVE VASEYS

Remember a while back, I posted about the imminent closure of Vaseys fishmongers in South Shields?
This (to me) was gonna be a very sad occassion, having grown up with the shop always being there, it was part of life as a kid and in more recent years, it\'s where I always got my squid, mackerel and fresh mussel from.

Just had a look down Frederick Street at dinner time and.........the fishmongers is still there

It\'s been taken over by a young lad who\'s also a fisherman and is often to be found fishing on Shields pier. Even better news.......as of later this month, he\'s intending to be selling rag & lug

Asked if he was on the \'net at home and gave him details of the site - seemed very keen about looking in on NESA - especially after I told him that I\'ve been extollong the virtues of Vaseys on the site for years.

    Excellent news mate .

    Jim.
Remember, some people are alive simply because it is illegal to shoot them.

Great news Tony, I was dreading having to hunt around for my frozen squid and fresh mussel. I hope the lad gets the support he deserves to keep him in business. I\'ll definately be using him for worm after my \"issues\" with other local suppliers
