    hi lads n lasses am going t make some leads but am just wondering will my single burner camping stove be hot enough am using a butane propane mix cartridge cheers

    i use a camping stove all the time never had any prob,s 1 gas tin do,es about 50 sinkers . jamcod

      That's all I use, never had any problems. I use a small light pan and usually make about a dozen at a time. Hardly a production line but it does me fine.

        Get yourself a stainless steel teapot, melt the lead in there, much easier for pouring.

          Also helps if you've got a butane blowtorch to melt the lead down faster in the pan and heat your mold up before you start!

                I want to start to make own leads also, not sure where I can get of bits if lead from though, any ideas, will not except the church roof as an answer lol

                  i buy mine from rooneys ingateshead back road near football stadium usually pay around the £1 to£1.10 p kilo tel.no. 0191 4787833 (shore road ) tight lines

                      Make sure you get the mould nice and hot aswell as the lead bofore you start it makes it easier to fill, nowt worse than the mould only half filling because its to cold

                        I allways pore a couple of blanks at the start to make sure the mould is up to temp...

                          Most important is some entertainment, As its a boring job! An iPod full of AC/DC, Motorhead or the stones should keep you at it longer!


                          Almost enough for a couple of sessions on the green wall
                          Stay safe!
