The record system is total balls and everyone knows it, why dont they do somethign about ti and make it easier for people to claim records and so on

Cheers billy i cant thank you enough This record claim has now been dragging on for 3 years now with lots of letters to and fro but nothing seems to be getting sorted !! This means a lot to me mate thanks for your help and to Sam also because without your time and effort it wouldn`t of got anywhere ! Alan Charlton also had a few words for me but it seems like there is a lot of red tape to cross before you can get a claim validated !! Even though the fish is now in the Natural Science And History Museum in London pickled in alcohol under the watchfull eyes of Mr Crimmon (the bloke off the Mat Heye`s fishing programes !!!!) and he identified it and said they have not got one and would take great pleasure if i would donate it to them !
Its now on a shelf next to specimens from Charles Darwin.....etc
So lets hope that this is the final hurdle and my claim will be in writing - print soon
            Thanks bert
            Cheers Bert

              Well done Bert!

What puzzles me is, that if there was any query about the fished weight, they have the bloody thing preserved, why not weigh it themselves, being oickled it should not have lost much weight in the first couple of weeks.

long benton & seatonburn club left the n f s a with all the cockups they did but the grief bert has had is because, bert is a northen angler taking a southern record,if the fish had been caught down south it would be in the record books by now

Never got the chance to thank Alan Charlton in person for his \"SCOOP\" of a potential British Record ................ but hopefully will do soon

And I thought Councils took a long time to make decisions......3 years is ridiculous
Suppose somebody else had caught a heavier specimen during that time......would Bert have received ANY credit for his catch?

Why not post a picture of the fish, Bert.
There\'s been a lot of new members join during those 3 years and they won\'t have seen it.

No sweat Bert, the previous record was caught at Christchurch Dorset, notice i said previous I regard your fish as a British Record already, fairly weighed, identified and recorded.
