We\'re going down to the inlaws, Ness in the Wirral, 3rd week in August for a long weekend. Does anybody know any good marks in North Wales I could try?

I\'m hoping to try for something different ie bass, bream, mullet, smoothies and rays and I\'ll be taking my sal****er fly outfit, various spinning/carp rods and my new K2 extreme LDC 18ft beachcaster, which should cover most situatiions.

I\'ll be fishing by myself if you\'re worried that your favourite marks will be pillaged by a horde of anglers and it will be catch and release as I doubt the inlaws would want any fish brought back home!

Cheers Alan, I had already checked this site out but a lot of the venues fish best between April/May and Nov/Jan and not in August when I\'ll be there. The Pigeon Holes at Orme look my best bet, especially for the flies and plugs, but I was hoping there may be a venue not listed that fishes its tats off. Not one mention of Bream being caught either on that site?

If you stop in the Phwelli area you will catch bream and schoolies from the harbour and surrounding area. If its flat calm and a big tide the gimblet rock area will fish its tits off for rays into darkness. If your not scared of a good walk try the LLeyn peninsular for all sorts of species but take lots of sinkers!!!l. The local tackle shop in Phwelli will keep you right and is always well stocked with sandeels etc.
There are some fantastic beaches on the north of the lleyn peninsular but I cant remember the names. Used to go every year and always had over 10 different species and numerous huss between 8-12lb. Best time though is generally june or september.

            Hiya,

Just spent a week at the Menai bridge, DONT fish Holyhead breakwater!!! 5 days fishing the breakwater was enough to put me off!

We tried a place called Penmon point, realy good mark in the puffin sound. When we fished there there our team coach caught a 20lb conger in daylight, we got stacks of cod, and at evenings orther guys caught Huss, and Bass in the 6, 7 8lb bracket! Im told there are Rays here too, tho it seemed fairly rough ground with odd clean patches. Look under the rocks, you find some huge edible + velvets
