Personally I can\'t stand anyone who uses feathers and their beach or pier gear to catch mackerel from the shore. I\'ve caught up to 40 fish in a session using a spinner from Roker pier, to me, thats all you need. OK you want bait, but why not enjoy the best fighting fish (pound for pound) in the north sea with light tackle.

I\'ve never used feathers for 30 years and never been short of mackerel for bait. Give them some respect for gods sake.

Before I went out tonight this post was the most important on the board to me.
Came out of the pub tonight and was given a \"lady\" to walk home.
Dropped her off at her door and carried on walking.
Found a girl sitting on the curb crying her eye\'s out.
With a smile on my face I was thinking not another one. Plonked meself down and had a bit crack.
I t took me a couple of minutes before I realised who she was. Most of her family was wiped out by a drunk driver just a week or so ago.

This post doesn\'t seem so important any more to me.

        Jim.
Remember, some people are alive simply because it is illegal to shoot them.

must admit spinners are the way to go for macky, great sport on appropriate tackle. i use feathers for the bonk eels though, a lot more effective when you you need lots.
