I have recently been having a problem with my saltist 30h in which the lever to disengage the reel keeps getting jammed when the spool is engaged and i am unable to click the reel out of gear .
Anyone had any similar problems and can shine a light on a possible solution.
Have you had it in bits lately mate? - if so it might just not have been put back together properly. If not, it's probably nothing major. I've never had an issue with any of mine but at a guess it could just be that the lever mechanism is a bit crudded up, or possibly the yoke plate that lifts the pinion gear might be the culprit - either way they're mechanically pretty simple so it shouldn't be a difficult fix. Worst case scenario would be something like a bent spindle but I'd say that was pretty unlikely - I'd look for the simpler things first. If you don't fancy a tinker inside yourself I'm sure Simon at Lewis's could strip it for you easily enough.
Just a thought; if you were wanting it to fish with for tomorrow night - if you can get over to mine tomorrow I could take a look at it for you, they might be a bit busy down the shop tomorrow with the open & what not. PM me if you like & let me know
