    Now lads n lasses been back into fishing for over year now used to go every day as lived in maryport Cumbria right on sea front till aged 16 gave up till last year(I'm 32 now) managed canny few fish many over 1.5 however still no cod near this size had few but lucky t b half pound I out at least once week usual marks st.peters smiths dock fish quay and jarrow next to ped tunnel fish varied tides n day n night still cod eluding me any tips?marks?baits? B grateful or anyone wanna join r let me join them on a trip what better my chances?i drive n live Wallsend help me

    Its not just you not catching mate many people are strugling with the coddie catches at the moment bring on the onshore winds !!!

      me and a couple of other lads are going somewhere along the tyne in north shields friday night from about 7-7.30pm if you are up for it. scotty91 off here and a lad i know who has just got into fishing. pm me if you fancy it.

        the amount of freshwater in the tyne can affect cod catches m8 last year the river tyne fished really well. codling should start showing soon enough as mentioned not very many decent codling reports coming in. try and fish the wider parts of the river on big tides and narrower parts fo the river on small to medium tides.

        smiths dock can be very hitty missy m8 fished there a lot alst year, i like to fish the fish quat half tide up on a medium tide and a big chuck into the middle. frozen peeler can help winkle out a codling in the river rag and lug also works well tipped off with a bit peeler or mussel.
        Species 2012 - Cod, Flounder, Dab, Plaice, Pollock, Eelpout, Common eel, Granny Fish, Whiting, Coalie, LSD, Rockling, Bass.

            need some north easterlys to stir things up try the beaches on a dying sea after dark either blyth or cresswell
