Ta lads, I was thinking at low water there might be yards of mudflats to fish over you know. I heard it's a long chuck at the walkway to avoid the snags. Did I get that right ? Any chance of a codling there ?

Many thanks mate, will probably stay south of the river to avoid traffic because coming up from Sunderland. Much appreciated 'though.

On a low tide half of the base at the walkway is exposed rocks.... not too worry though its only normally 3-5m of rock and because of the height you fish from ti isnt a problem.

With regards to any snags.... I have probs fished the mark about a dozen times so far this year and lost one or two sets of gear... one was a birds nest lol. If you can cast maybe 60yds+ you will clear the snags and get your gear back most times.

Usual baits for the river but try not to fish it on big tides as the tide run is a right pain the backside. Had or seen loads of decent fish so far this year from the spot.

are you thinking of fishing tide down to low tide as i find this a waste of time most tyne marks.

now the first of the flood tide i find very good especialy on a medium size tide.

walkway last few yrs fished poorly but you never know could come good this yr.

regarding snags i sometimes just cast straight over my head hear not far out and i dont hit any snags.
did you know panel pins comes in diff sizes ?

80yds more like it,north side ice house area i like to get it a long way out but not at the walkway.

the day i seen you down there i was doing a scaled down pendulum but like what i read from you i dont like yourself like doing a pendulum there of any kind too many houses public etc

about another two or three weeks for the walkway to produce imho but its easy fishing there except for the worry of getting your car scratched there.

hi phil yes i fancy it but loads of work at work and no hols left.

it fished well last oct/nov/dec small tides casting towards tynemouth pier flood tide.

it is supposed to be a good shot on a medium tide on a south easterly sea on the ebb using frozen crab during winter, havnt fished it in these conditions just what i have been told.

still a bit early for me the fishing yet cod season getting shorter and shorter.
