Amble pier

After any infor on fishing Amble pier during the day. Does it fish this time of year, best baits/rigs etc newbie to sea fishing. Only be during the day as cant get out on a night time.

You will catch flatties pretty much any time/tide, rockling too and even the odd cod or gurnard. and there is always the chance of the odd coalie when dropping a bait just down the side. I tend to fish the north pier at Warkworth more than Amble pier, and usually use a two hook flapper rig with rag/lug and mackerel baits.

Yes, I should have mentioned this! some of them boats get really close to the lines, but there's not much you can do other than wind in as fast as you can if they are approaching!!
