The reason we made it 2 hrs was so people could fish the hole match and not worry about getting back without accidents plus a lot of marks fish better on the flood and your last cast is as good as your first?? just here'd on Sunday John bells car was upside down in a field and that was just going to his mark, if you've got a double in your car or a good bag of fish you will take chances I would!!!
When it comes to boundaries the fishing is becoming harder and harder so more scope is needed to keep everyone happy from the match angler to the pleasure angler if you want to spend £30 on diesel that's upto you nobody is forcing you

hard linesfor the lad the weigh in was tight, 2,30 finish would have been safer i was at craster and left the rocks at 12,50 got back in plenty of time but most of the time we were stuck behind a camper van so that slowed us down i think at times you have to use ya loaf and leave that bit early where was the lad fishing , jamcod

As in previous years, the tickets were on sale for the whole week before the comp from various local tackle shops!
ID Fishing, Sports and Lesiure, McDermotts, Frazers Angling, Amble Angling Centre, Angler's United, Newbiggin Pet Shop.
The majority of ticket sales came from the tackle shops, Angler's United taking 90 odd alone.

We are all responsible adults and should read the rules and make a decision based on them, conditions, and other factors. Rules apply to the roads and in life too, whether we like them or not! So to say people will speed is up to them! Their choice and their risk the same as staying on a flooding rock mark, its a risk. Leave at the right time! Leave too late its your decision and your responsible.

To say you need bigger boundaries is not the answer, when do we stop. Take the sea league as an example, most enjoy the competitiveness of it and just get on with fishing in the allocated area and are often surprised by whats about. Huge boundaries just open up competitions to luck and cheating and don't reward skill. Pegged or zoned matches certainly do.

I would like to see a return to smaller boundaries, Tyne to Blyth, Tyne to Druridge, Cambois to Amble, Amble to Seahouses. Would make matches much less of a lottery and give them an identity.

Couldn't agree more 9 time out of 10 we over look good marks and walk away from fish. There's a lot of place nobody fishes any more because people say its never fished for years, but if we don't fish these marks any more how can we say it dosen't produce.

As far as cheating there's not many opens north of the tyne that i haven't fished in the last 25 years and in all those years the number of cheaters to the number of comps held has been very small, unfortunately when it happens
it stands out and can start lots of rumors about other comps. Unfortunatley the small minority of people who have been caught cheating over the years have not only give opens a bad name but stopped a lot of anglers entering them

i fish local so the weighin times for the newbiggin comp were spot on!!
I did not fish a previous comp as i dont want to sit around for the best part of 2 hours waiting for the weigh in to finish!!
But like someone says you cant please everybody at the same time nee matter what you do!!
The only fish i want this year is a double figured cod!!!

i am not just knocking this comp i am saying that bounderies keep getting bigger to give anglers a better chance yet they keep the weigh in time the same it doesnt work its asking for problems either shorten the bounderies or lengthen the weigh in and all these people saying its about the angler not the secret marks if that angler has put the time and effort in to find a mark that fishes why should he be dis advatntaged to the lads who just fish on the well known marks close to the weigh in
