ive used it quite a lot. is fine on the river or pier but damages easily in the rough stuff. daiwa tournament all the way for me

av have had probs with red ice before n its **** binned 2 spools of red ice end of last season, daiwa sensor the way forward for me it might be a little thicker but does the job n gives me confidence

okie dokie then not just one bad spool. what i found frustrasting was i cuold not even apply any pressure to break the 10lb rotten bottoms.....will be taking it off the spool now . thanks for the feedback guys. i didnt cast far with i just lobbed it bout 30 hence 25lb st8 thru ....

we found that with age it got stiffer and brittle, you might have an old spool.

never had any problems with red ice at all,30lb straight through over really heavy ground, also used it on the boat. But when i'm buying line (red ice was a gift) Gerry's bobby basic mono (german i think) does the job, used to be 3 spools for a tenner, bit more expensive now.

why use expensive line over heavy ground? gerry's best 30 / 40 lb mono straight through ideal for short lobs into kelp & rocks.

Red Ice

Not very good line all red ice. I use 25lb sensor with a 70lb shocker or 30lb straight through.

Same for me, 18lb sensor with a 50 or 60 powerflex leader - nee probs
