  • Best conditions for flounder/flatties

    Hi fellas,

Heard the Golden Lion area is good for flounder/flatties. Just wondered what are best conditions to fish there? High tide, low tide, a few hours before/after?

    Cheers

medium tides are best fish the flood tide, fish as far down river on the railings as you can get at the start of flood, moving back along the prom half tide up,mackerel/lug is a good year round bait for the flounders up there ....

wearmouth bridge in the town center is a good spot too mate especially if its raining as all the flounder seem to stay under the bridge to keep out of the rain

Nice one thanks, I'll try under the bridge too. I was a bit put off wearmouth as I have been there, well more panns bank really, for the past few times and got whitey/coal but also loads of snags and lost a lot of gear there
