  • st mary's lighthouse?

    I fancy a few hrs tomorrow at st mary's. do you get cut off by the flood tide? and if so how long for? have to make sure Im home before the wife gets in from work hahaha

    Not fished this place but visited a few times with the family. There is a road which leads to the lighthouse which floods with the tide.
    My guess is you would be on for a while until the tide turns again unless it was a quick sesh.
    Looks spot on place to try off the rocks at back of lighthouse.

      All good spots around ther you got crisps gully just at left ov light house that's good spot and yes you get cut off you wood be on ther 4-5 hours i

        Been down on a low tide with the kids spinning but had more luck dropping limpets into the large gulley straight off the back and pulling flatties. Was great for the kids, you could watch the fish follow then take the bait lol.
        I used to snorkel there as a kid and i have seen lots of fish down there, and it is pretty deep.
        If it wasn't the kids first days back to school (yee ha lol) i would have loved to tag along m8, been wanting to fish the flood there for a while now.
        Species for 2012- Mackerel, Pollock, Codling 3lb 1oz, Whiting, Coley, Dab, Flounder, Plaice, LS Dogfish, Launce, Blenny, Weaver, Lobster, Rockling, Short spined sea scorpion, Pouting
        Lure caught 2012 - Mackerel, Pollock, Coley, Launce, Weaver
        Species for 2013 so far - Dab, Codling, Eelpout, Coley, Lobster, SS Sea Scorpion
