ive often wanted to know how they work the age of the reel out from the footplate number ?
1975 ? or 2001 ?

The reel is a serious collectors item original 6500ct like rocky horse stuff apparantly

you\'ll probably find the machinery inside the reel to be all metal as today they are made with quite a bit of cheap plastic.

I emailed the guy yesterday out of curiosity as to why he would pay that kind of money for a reel :P and its all in the number on the reel seat apparently 751101. 741000 and 760401 are all like rocky horse stuff and worth a bit of money he wasn\'t expecting to pay as much as he did but some one else realised the reel was rare!!!

I\'v had my 7000 about 23 years, the number on the bottom is 830300, is there anyway I can tell exactly when it was made???

I wouldn\'t have bought it either but if I had an old reel lying about that had them numbers on Id be interested in knowing if they were worth anything

im guessing here keith but march 83 would be a stab in the dark if ive worked out the numbers rightly

Could be right Bri, I thought I was still at school when I got the reel, I left in \'83. Could the date on the bottom be when the gurantee expires?
