  • Fishing Below The Mull Lighthouse. Advice Please.

I've been fishing the Mull for about 20 years but never fished the end below the lighthouse.

Could someone give me instructions how to get get down there.

    Thanks in advance.

walk through the gate at the lighthouse, then go left down a slope, then keep going until you see a big drop, then turn right and be very careful and follow the cliff down,
its a bit dodgy to say the least

Bit dodgy is a major understatement...I was there, as a tourist, last week and there is no way I'd attempt it without ropes and harnesses.

If peeps want to put their life at risk for a fish then you must be mad

Just my opinion like...I guess that makes me a wimp, but at least a live one
      Ooh a new vid!

o/k if you take your time no flat rocks or wide ledges you have to stand all the time on narrow ledges and can be a bit of a stuggle if you hook into a decent fish, much safer to follow the wall down to the larger ledges plenty of room down there, dont attempt it if it is raining, far better to revert to east or west tarbet where it is easy fishing and much safer.davy.

I have fished it in my younger days, its rather dangerous as you have to climb down the left hand side of the lighthouse and its really steep. However would advise you not to do this if it has been raining or is about to, as one slip and i'm afraid its no coming back, if you get what i mean. I wouldn't do it now. A bit older and wiser. However, there is good fishing about 200yards before you get to the lighthouse. Just follow the field on your left and head toward the sea and you will come across several good spots. There is, however, quite a lot of kelp. Good luck with your fishing.
