  • Cheap ct conversion to recomend!!

    hi all!
just converted my old abu 6000c to ct using a cheap kit on ebay!
its from a company called PMR (pimp my reel) they do magg kits and side plates for all types of multpilers abu garcia/daiwa/shimano etc!
anyways the kit cost £3 plus p+p and comprises of a long shafted screw and a few washers! you use the original bar that housed the worm gear when the reel had a levelwind! all thats needed is the top bar needs cutting off with a hacksaw and the worm gear bar filed abit! you get step by step instructions with pictures and you get 2 pvc end caps to go over the sharp edges of the top bar you cut off!
all in all it dose the same job as a more expensive conversion bar but at £3:
the reel is absolutely solid when the bar is in aswell not any wobble wot so ever!
i will recomend this to anyone who wants a ct conversion but dont
want to pay the silly money

There we go over the moon with it i am! not the prettiest reel in the
world but it go's like stink now! jamie from PMR fitted ceramic hybrid bearings plus a mono mag
really great service from PMR from down in poole
they have a shop on ebay and i would recomend them to anyone
as they really care about the job they do and want to get the job just
right for you hence more than a few pleasant phonecalls from PMR
only bad point is i have to wait till next friday to try it out because
im away on holiday for a week
like i said anyone wanting there reels overhauled or magged up or converted
try PMR you wont be disapointed!!
first pic is a before shot then the reel as it is now

I don't think the mag adjuster is big enough!

                hi all
just some more pics here of the mono mag from the inside of my reel
what is the point of a springless mag i here you say well thats what i said
to pmr and the answer makes sense!
basically the mag can travel further away from the spool taking away the magnetic influence on the spool so you have alot more control over the mag!
