    looking for a hook inbetween a viking and a sakuma like the hardness of sakuma but like how the viking will straighten if snagged any ideas?

    Just go with sakuma 540 mantas or 545 manta extra theyre very strong but will bend out if you put enough strain on them

        My favourite were the Gamakatsu G-point baitholders, but they've been discontinued I'll have to make my last few packets last a while longer....

          Try the Varivas hooks - same as Sakuma 540's, cheaper and do straighten when snagged. Theres no need to use Sakuma 545s unless you need to lift fish up pier walls etc.

          Ive had tope 35lb+ on the 5/0 540s so a normal cod isn't going to cause much bother.

          You could try Kamasan uptides, slightly longer shank and very similar to a Viking but seem higher quality and with a much sharper point. They do straighten too. Sizes are small though so you may need a 3/0 when you would use a 2/0 sakuma.
